How to Look After your Skin?

It is not difficult to realize that your skin is actually a valuable protection for your body.

As long as your skin is healthy and strong it cannot be penetrated by toxins that can cause harm to your inner body.

But, how does one look after one’s skin?

Well, the best way to take care of your skin is to give it the kind of food and nourishment it needs and protect it. The protection it needs is from rough and sharp objects as well as from the harsh effects of the sun’s UV rays. It also needs to be protected from the harmful effects of chlorine in swimming pools.

For skin to be shining and supple one needs to drink plenty of water and eat all the right kinds of food, in addition to subscribing to natural skin care products.

These foods are fruits and vegetables. This is because fruits and vegetables contain lots of anti-oxidants. These include beta-carotene and the vitamins A, C and E that can stop the damage that is caused by free radicals. It is these free radicals that cause maximum harm to your skin cells and ultimately show up ageing signs.

One trick is to go for both variety and colour when you select fruits and vegetables. If you are hungry, eat plenty of spinach, strawberries, different types of peppers and grapefruit.

You can also add a bit of tomato paste that contains lycopene, a powerful anti-oxidant and mix it with brown rice and stir-fried vegetables. Eating foods that are high in various omega-3 fatty acids such as salmon and sardines besides free farm eggs and walnuts will also help in ensuring that your skin’s outer layer is strong. There are several beauty products available online too and these also help in repairing damaged skin layers.
